What is Vegan Food?

Vegan food is such a diet, in which animals or any products prepared through them are not eaten. Green vegetables and dry fruits are especially included in this diet. By taking vegan food, fat does not accumulate in the body, and the person remains healthy for a long time. Vegan food is a little different from the vegetarian diet because dairy products are not included in it. In this diet, you can take, fruits, seeds, vegetables, grains, and dry fruits. And there are meat substitutes areadily available including natural substitutes such as a muchroom burger, and processed substitues such as processed veggie burgers that vary in the amounts of processing and ingredients. In the Asian culture there are many Buddhists who don’t eat meat so there are some excellent imitation meats there including beef, pork, chicken and fish.

Benefits of Vegan Food

Vegan food is helpful in controlling weight. This does not increase fat in the body. A vegan diet accelerates metabolism. Anti-oxidants are found in abundance in this diet, which helps in staying healthy for a long time. Devouring it regularly reduces the risk of diabetes and blood pressure.

A vegan diet also is helpful in protecting the environment, as it takes many more resources to grow cows than to grow a crop of vegetables.

Another reason to consider at least cutting down on meat is what happens to the animals at slaughter.

Compared with meat eaters, vegetarians tend to consume less saturated fat and cholesterol and more vitamins C and E, dietary fiber, folic acids, potassium, magnesium, and petrochemicals (plant chemicals), such as carotids and flavoring.
